I am a “Non-Revenue Photographer” because I do not generate income from my photographic skills. If I spend money on things photographic it’s because I think it will help me make better images or present them to a larger audience. This causes me to think twice (at least) about investing in my photographic world. Adding equipment, software, or something else to help me create art does require some self-examination and justification prior to purchase.
On the other hand, I don’t have to work diligently to make the purchase “pay off” by creating income from my photography.
