I am intrigued by what might be called Remains of the Past. I think that’s a polite name for something that is way past its prime, no longer used, devoid of human occupation or just something old that is no longer used. Impolitely, one might say I enjoy photographing junk, old machines, and abandoned buildings. There is something about objects that are from a different time and place. I think these objects and scenes provide us a key to why we are what we are today. We can see what earlier generations experienced and what made them the way they were. From there, we can see how we got to where we are today. It’s this connection that puts us in the timeline of history.
