Early in my photographic career I created many nude photographs. In assembling images for the More Memories than Dreams Project I am conflicted about what to do with these images. There is a super abundance of nudity on the internet, most of which fails on an artistic level while overachieving on a prurient level.
I think it's rather interesting that we (or maybe it’s just me) don't see very many nudes these days. I don't know if that's a reaction to the me-too movement or the fact that internet porn has become so common that artistic nudes just seem like a product of yesteryear. In comparison to what is found on the web today, my nude images might be considered quaint, dated and viewed with the same amusement my generation had when viewing “French Postcards” from our grandparents’ generation.
